Edmundston
Open: Summer (late June – late August)
Perched on a rocky bluff where the Madawaska meets the St. John River, the Petit-Sault Blockhouse is a faithful reconstruction of the 1841 British fort that once guarded the border during the Aroostook “Bloodless” War. Interpretive panels, period artefacts and sweeping valley views bring frontier history to life, while nearby riverside trails make it easy to pair culture with fresh air. Open from late June to late August, the wooden stronghold offers guided tours and photo-worthy sunsets over Edmundston’s skyline.
