Caraquet
A self-taught Acadian painter born in Le Goulet living in Caraquet, Michel Duguay paints popular expressions, sayings and reflections of the French language. To join the written text and make the link with the image, he uses a narrator who takes the form of a character in a top hat. Sometimes it's with humor and other times there is a very thoughtful reflection. He began painting about twenty years ago and has several solo exhibitions to his credit. His works have been presented in Montreal, Old Quebec, the Magdalen Islands, Grand Pré, Ottawa and throughout New Brunswick and have toured all over the world. In June 2011, he participated in the Montreal International Arts Festival where he was noticed.
