Loüie (born in 1988) is a Brazilian painter based in Moncton, New Brunswick, since 2019. Growing up near Mauá, São Paulo, Loüie discovered his passion for art at the age of fourteen, teaching himself painting while growing up in a challenging environment.
At twenty-three, he graduated in psychology, which, along with his fine arts studies, profoundly influenced his artistic journey. Loüie's work mainly explores themes such as time, memory, and solitude, all blended—at times—with aspects of Brazilian politics, inviting viewers to connect with his subjects beyond the boundaries of past, present, or future. His art encourages personal interpretation, allowing each person to find their own emotional resonance.
